A ski dream in Livingo

As every year I like to visit Livingo in Italy for a winter time. I love skiing and this is the reason why I go there. This year I wanted to go on snowboard but I chickened out eventually. Anyway, the weather was amazing, so sunny and warm even though it was minus temperatures. The whole town looks like a ski dream. Many wonderful and cozy looking small wooden houses, streets lights as if it was a North Pole and so many options to spend your day.

Where is Livingo?

Situated between the Engadine and the Upper Valtellina, Livigno lies in an enchanting valley stretching across 12 km. Nestling between two mountains ranges progressively descending from an altitude of 3,000 m down to 1,800 m, Livigno is made up of a several of wood and stone buildings. Together with neighbouring Trepalle, an attractive location (with the added distinction as the highest permanent inhabited settlement in Europe), Livigno is today a premium-level Alpine holiday resort. Situated in a pristine natural landscape, there over a hundred modern hotels with all the mod cons, welcoming visitors throughout the year with the traditional hospitality typical of this Alpine area.

What to do in Livigno?

There are many things you can do in Livigno. I’m mostly traveling there for skiing, eating pizza and shopping. Every single year I tell myself I’ll explore Living more and more but I hardly ever do it. I guess one week is not enough especially when you don’t want to miss an amazing weather on the slopes. Anyway, this ski dream town has a lot to offer. Here are a few:

  • skiing and snowboarding,
  • go on fun slopes that are built on slopes,
  • x-country skiing on 30 km of cross-country ski trails,
  • ice skating,
  • freeride from the top,
  • ice climbing,
  • ski touring – different levels and directions,
  • fat bike riding,
  • free ride from top of the mountain,
  • ice cart,
  • paragliding,
  • panoramic flight in a helicopter.

Now that I read all above I really don’t know why I haven’t tried ice cart with my friends and a freeride. This would be something great to go back to when sitting at home.

I hope this little post will help you to decide what you want to do in Livigno if you’re going there. Or maybe you’ll be tempted to visit this beautiful town yourself. In my next post I will share with you what I have eaten in this ski dream location. Let me know what do you think about it in the comments below. Also, for more photos of Living you can check my Instagram where I have created stories from there.
