How to be a morning person – what works for me || Thoughts


Do you struggle or not really when waking up in the morning? I am always wanting to be a morning person even though I am a night owl. I have read a lot of articles and posts about how to be a morning person. I have tried different ways and today I want to talk about what worked for me and what didn’t.

Quit watching TV before bed.

It totally worked for me. I stopped watching TV or YouTube before going to bed and I fall asleep more easily. My eyes are more relaxed and my mind is calmer.

Read a book before bed.

Instead of watching TV I started reading books. I must say I love this option. I am reading more than ever because I am doing it every single day. Maybe I will finally read all I have bought.

Get enough sleep.

This is something I know is important but I am never well-rested when getting up before 9am. However, when I got to bed around 11pm and wake up at 6.30am I have to admit that I am feeling good. I think the most important thing is to get to know how many hours is the best for you. It turns out for me is 7 and a half. Less isn’t enough and I cannot get out of bed. More, well, sometimes I feel very sleepy and bad, and sometimes I feel so well-rested like I was sleeping for all my sleepless nights.

Wake up at the same time every day.

When I started waking up in the early morning my body wakes up around that time naturally. It is hard to get out of bed but I wake up. So that works for me. However, I do not get up at the same time on the weekends. I know I shouldn’t do that, but not setting my alarm clock is too tempting.

Keep my alarm clock away from the bed.

This does not work for me at all. Why? Because even though I get out of bed, right after I turn my alarm clock off I get back to bed (because I like to lay in a warm duvet for a while).

That’s all I can think of about ways to become a morning person. Let me know what do you think about them and what is your advice to be a morning person.
